The Rumford Public Works Department has 15 full-time and 14 seasonal employees that maintain approximately 79 miles of roads during the winter months, and approximately 59 miles of roads during the summer months. 

 We maintain  the sanitary sewer system and 20 pumping stations.  Our mechanics service all vehicles and equipment of each department.  We haul solid waste from the regional transfer station to a licensed landfill.

Community events

Each year the Rumford Public Works handle's traffic control for events, such as: Moontide festival, Fourth of July Fireworks, and the Road Rally.
